The University was founded on the 15th July 1991. The development of modern, efficient economic structures in Brandenburg was closely linked with the creation of highly capable and competitive centres of education and research. The University is the first of its kind to be founded in Brandenburg since the Technical College Charlottenburg, part of the modern-day university of Berlin, more than 100 years ago. One hundred and thirty-three lecturers provide lessons for 5200 students in the follow subjects: Architecture, Civil Engineering, Town and Regional Planning, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Industrial Engineering, the Environmental Sciences and Process Engineering.
