Tour of Brandenburg
With its 1,111 kilometres the Tour of Brandenburg is the most extended long-distance cycle path in Germany.
This trail leads around the capital of Berlin and thus through the whole State of Brandenburg. The Tour of Brandenburg associates Brandenburg’s scenic diversity with the 14 towns with a historic city centre, like for example Wittstock, Jüterbog or Peitz.
It’s likewise a trip through the past of the country, along numerous churches, castles and manor houses. Nine natural parks and biosphere reserves, forest, moorlands and cultivated landscapes as well as the numerous rivers like Elbe, Havel, Oder or the lakes at Senftenberg, the Schwielochsee and the Grimnitzsee will invite you to relax.
Due to the successful connection to the local public transport, the tour may even be run by stages. Insofar the long-distance cycle path isn’t only a tip concerning the “long-distance lovers” but also suitable for day-trippers.
This circular trail is joining all the important long-distance cycle paths in Brandenburg, what means that popular tracks can easily be combined: for example Berlin-Usedom, Berlin-Copenhague, Oder-Neisse or Elbe cycle path.
