Enclosed by two arms of the river Spree the town centre is located on an island. After a careful restoration one can find a lot of ancient combined with the very latest. Nice small cafés and inns invite everybody to tarry. Bike-friendly hotels, guest houses and holiday homes offer a good service to their guests.br />

The special days like the festivals in May, in Autumn and the Light feast as well as the Town’s celebration and the Music festival in summer taking place in the Kreuzkirche, are only a few events at Spremberg. You’ll find an attractive adventure playground as well as the enclosed section reserved for mother and child, which is at everybody’s disposal besides the lawn. A 72 metres waterslide, jet stream channel, water-grotto, jacuzzi beds and water cannon are fun for everybody. Park ground free of charge is in the immediate vicinity of the water world. When it’s getting chilly outside, one has at the disposal a marvellous natatorium.

Biker are spoilt for choice since several cycle paths cross at Spremberg, for example the “Spree cycle path”, the “Lower Lusatia open cast mining tour”, the “Fürst Pückler cycle path” and the “Tour of Brandenburg”. While cycling on the trail of “Sorbian impression” a visit at the Lower Lusatia “Heidemuseum” (heath-museum/ museum of local history) must really be scheduled. There are a lot of things worthy to see about the Sorbian tradition and to know details concerning farmers‘ life at the Lusatian heath. Hence Spremberg can be an ideal departure for circular cycling tours through the varied environs.

But in spite of this, even hikers are welcome too at all times. Thus, the European Hike Path E 10 coming from the river dam of Spremberg runs to the neighbouring Saxony.
The person who would like to discover this region from the horseback, will find numerous bridleways, for example at the vegetated mining dump on the edge of the open cast site of Welzow-Süd. Riders being on their travels are kindly welcome.

Spremberg belongs to the barrier-free destinations in the Lower Lusatia with many different offers.
